More New Year’s Wishes January 14, 2008

Filed under: Happy New Year, Rekha — lililyrics @ 7:10 pm

So we’re almost at the halfway point in January.

Time is, as usual, flying by, but this year I am really working on making sure that I stay focused and manifest my goals so that I don’t have that dazed, bug-eyed “Where did the year go and what the heck have I actually accomplished” feeling come December. So I thought I’d re-visit my overarching wish for this year, which is “May I manifest my heart’s desires in the ways that are 100% to my highest good and 100% in alignment with my Higher Self.”

This is also my wish for my family, friends, colleagues…everone on earth. I hope and pray that we all experience the joy and fulfillment of having our deepest dreams and wishes come true.

However, while this is a very noble sentiment, I thought that some specifics would be helpful. So here’s a gem of a detailed New Year’s wish that I found on my friend Rekha’s blog:

“May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet for $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires! May happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be those of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words…May 2008 be the best year of your life!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Here’s to a heaven of a 2008!

The Power of Prayer – A Miraculous Intercession October 16, 2007

Filed under: God, Jesus, Rekha, miracle, prayer — lililyrics @ 11:26 pm

Today I heard a story that reminded me of the power of prayer.

My friend Rekha has been going through a lot of stuff lately, the most recent of which is that her Mom was diagnosed with tuberculosis a few weeks ago. The entire family has been panicked, and a bit scared, not sure whether her body, already weakend by a heart condition, would be able to rid itself of the illness without an even worse outcome resulting…

Rekha, whom I can best describe as a Christian-Hindu-Spiritual-Energetic healer, was was unable to go and visit her Mom for several reasons, and was going through all of the requisite guilt and remorse. But instead of wallowing in that, she called on an old buddy of hers: Jesus.

At first, she started out kind of sheepishly, a bit guilty over her long silence: “Hey there. Know we haven’t spoken for a while, but here’s the thing…”. But then she got over that whole guilt thing – so unnecessary – and just prayed.

Over the course of about a week, she prayed constantly for Jesus to intercede on her behalf, as she could not physically be there herself, and heal her Mom. She asked for him to gently, completely, painlessly and effortlessly remove all traces of TB from her Mother’s body. Just draw it out of her chest. And he did. She asked, believing, and received.

About a week-and-a-half later, you already know what the scans revealed: not a trace, not a single trace of TB anywhere on her Mother’s chest or lungs. The doctors are still mystified at how it all cleared up so quickly…

I am so glad that Rekha shared this with me. Gives me hope.
